Thank you so much for sharing your experience in purchase of a Spaulding Decon franchise. I recently looked into it, was given a great sell job and ready to purchase....Then I get the new FDD. She has a 60% failure rate with franchisees! She has a total of ONE franchisee, 5 months in business and he is doing ok, but it's too soon to say he's a success yet (nice guy by the way).
Anyway, her pricing went up approx. $25k for the initial get in, several of the monthly fees went up substantially and she's added a few new ones. The fees are taken out of your bank account (ACH). You buy everything from her...the garbage bags even!
She told me the guy in Atlanta had done already $135k in first four months of business, but HE told me 2 weeks later, he'd done $102k in first FIVE months!! I'm going to let my Attorney General know about her!
Anyone considering a Spaulding Decon franchise/ working with Laura Spaulding....run the other way!
She's had two franchisees pay between $88k - $138k (what her initial published "get in" price was) to get their business up and running. One lasted about 3 months the other gave up after 6. Why would people spend that kind of money and then walk away from their business? Her strategy seems to be now that the ONE AND ONLY franchisee is doing good, she thinks that's the time to raise rates and be aggressive on weekly/ monthly fees.
Thank God I'm smarter than her. She didn't get one dime of MY money!
Thanks for the feedback and I'm glad you were smart enough to realize who and what you were dealing with! Clearly there were plenty of red flags before we even spoke. Now that you know the truth, it must feel like you dodged a bullet (because you did)!
I found Spaulding Decon less than honorable. An estimate of $2-3000 became an invoice for over $5000 with no call or explanation. They acted like they were the injured party when I asked WHY??? They overcharged my insurance provider almost double their estimate. Unfortunate, unethical business practice to be carefully avoided PAY ATTENTION!!!!!
